WINTER WILDLAND
The holiday season is a perfect time to get together with your family and friends…so why not come together to celebrate it with us!
Just follow the candy cane lane to Santa’s workshop and his elves will be there to show you some holiday crafts, have story time, paint your face up and maybe you will get to see a couple of Santa’s reptile creatures…I think I heard a spiny-tailed lizard might be showing off his stuff and more creatures… but you have to come by to see.
And did I forget to tell you – the most important man of the season will also be there “SANTA” himself in his workshop. You will have an opportunity to sit on his lap, tell him everything you want for Christmas and also have your picture taken with him.
Santa’s workshop is open on December 14, 15, 21 and 22 from 10 am – 3 pm.
The Safari Express Christmas Train will also be operating daily from December 14th through January 5th, unless there are extreme weather conditions (excluding December 25th as we will be closed).
And later you need to go visit Santa’s reindeer's in the North American section, who are preparing for their big trip this year.
Guided North American walking tours will also take place from the Cougar enclosure starting December 26 until January 5th. Please check welcome board upon arrival for times.
**If you bring along an unwrapped toy or a can of dog or cat food, you will receive $1 off general admission. The proceeds of your generous donations will go towards, the Salvation Army in Aldergrove and LAPS (Langley Animal Protection Society).

AGM - November 24th
The
Aldergrove Recreation and Pool Society Annual AGM will be held at the
Aldergrove Legion on Sunday November the 24th from 3-4pm. On the Agenda will be
the presentation of the Societies Financial reports as well as the
election/re-election of executive council members.
Some
members of the executive council are stepping down. Therefore these positions will
need to be filled. However as with any society, all positions are up for
election. If you feel you can make a contribution to our efforts, please make
your voice heard and step up. The effort to get a pool year-round indoor pool
into Aldergrove is far from over. Recent changes and revelations at the
township level have kept things interesting.
Remember
that only card holding society members will be eligible to vote in the upcoming
election, but anyone who is willing to become a member is eligible to stand up
for election. If you are standing up for election, please have a short
introductory speech prepared, but please keep it to under 5 minutes as we want
to keep the meeting short.
Hope to see you there!
Anyone can attend. If you want to be
elected onto the board or if you want voting priviledges then you need to be a
member. Memberships will be available at the meeting and it is $5 for the
year.

Date night with JOHN McDERMOTT?
LOOKING BACK...
20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR!
John McDermott can recall the precise moment when he realized that giving up his day job and making singing his full-time career had been the right decision. That moment came at 8 pm on October 5th, 1993 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax as he walked on stage to a full house and a thunderous East Coast welcome. It was his first concert with his own band, and he was received with such wild encore-inducing enthusiasm the concert turned into a 4 hour marathon. John was hooked!
Now, 20 years and more than 25 albums later, John McDermott is internationally renowned as both a recording star and champion of veterans’ causes, which includes his foundation McDermott House Canada.
In Concert, whether he is sharing the stage with a stellar group of musical friends or touring the world as part of the famed Three Irish Tenors, McDermott continues to enchant audiences with his beautiful tenor voice and sensitive renditions. Though time and travel have introduced him to a wealth of new material and experiences, he manages to incorporate that diversity into his performances, while retaining the charm and humour that endeared him to audiences from the beginning. For this 20th Anniversary Tour - a two decade retrospective - McDermott will highlight a variety of songs from his early recordings through his latest releases.
Tickets: $47.50 from the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Box Office
